The Mission

The mission of the center is to promote academic, social, and developmental growth in children age’s three to six by providing quality learning experiences designed to encourage school success for young children.

History

Keystone SMILES has been providing preschool programs to area youth for nearly fourteen years.   Our program is an active participant in the Keystone STARS program and is a Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts site in collaboration with the Keystone School District. Academics activities focus on developing the skills learners need to be ready and succeed in Kindergarten and beyond.  The program also strives to improve social and behavioral skills. Children are accepted on the basis of qualifying factors that are discussed, addressed and observed at the time of enrollment. Keystone SMILES is proud to employ a highly qualified staff of four certified teachers and 2 paraprofessionals enrolled in Child Development Associate programs, supported by the service of AmeriCorps members.

What parents are saying...

  • We think the main strength of the program is the teachers and their commitment to being involved with the kids...most importantly they’ve made learning fun and enjoyable …”
  • “I am very impressed with the atmosphere.  The children are happy, playing and learning.  I truly feel that the center is well run and the teachers are high quality. This is my second child who has attended, and I feel strongly that the program is wonderful!”
  • “I am a grandparent of a special needs child and she is excelling in the current Pre K Counts and could not ask for a more experienced education team ... she looks forward to coming to her school.”

Since 2007

ó 269 total students have been served by the preschool programs of Keystone SMILES;
