SPC Ross A. McGinnis Medal of Honor "Challenge Coin"

coin

A custom minted coin is a military tradition to recognize achievement, create incentive, improve safety, or show appreciation for duty, dedication, or a job well done. Bestowing an active soldier, veteran or any other member of the military with a unique and beautifully detailed coin is truly commemorative of their commitment to their country and fellow citizens

Michael was the 4-year old son of Randall and Lisa Renfrew, a Keystone SMILES AmeriCorps Alumni. Michael was killed in a tragic accident on the family farm on April 1, 2001. Michael would have been 16 on May 13, 2012. The fund will be used to annually award scholarships to preschool students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend a preschool program

Preschool Program Donations

The Mission

The mission of the center is to promote academic, social, and developmental growth in children age’s three to six by providing quality learning experiences designed to encourage school success for young children.

History

Keystone SMILES has been providing preschool programs to area youth for nearly fourteen years.   Our program is an active participant in the Keystone STARS program and is a Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts site in collaboration with the Keystone School District. Academics activities focus on developing the skills learners need to be ready and succeed in Kindergarten and beyond.  The program also strives to improve social and behavioral skills. Children are accepted on the basis of qualifying factors that are discussed, addressed and observed at the time of enrollment. Keystone SMILES is proud to employ a highly qualified staff of four certified teachers and 2 paraprofessionals enrolled in Child Development Associate programs, supported by the service of AmeriCorps members.
