McGinnis Memorial Awards

SPC Ross A. McGinnis Memorial Service Award

The heroic and unselfish act of SPC Ross A. McGinnis has touched the lives of many people in Clarion County and neighboring communities. Ross’ patriotism and sacrifice earned him The Medal of Honor, a Purple Heart and a Silver Star for Valor.

Another tribute to his valor occurred on Wednesday, December 13th, 2006 when a Keystone SMILES AmeriCorps Alum chose to contribute to Ross’ legacy, which can now live on through other service focused deeds of individuals. The Alum’s donation of $5000 established the beginning of a memorial endowment fund. The first Scholarships were awarded in December of 2007.

The annual Ross McGinnis Memorial Service Awards will be awarded on June 14th.
