Youth Philanthropy Annual Mini Grants are available to Venango County schools and nonprofits that help young people grow up healthy, caring and responsible. The Search Institute has identified 40 Developmental Assets® for Adolescents (ages 12-18)

Any non-profit organization with 501.c.3 status or school located in Venango County that is in need of funding for programs which provide youth development, service and/or asset building. Funding requests may be between $500.00 and $2000.00.

About Youth Philanthropy Mini-Grants

The Youth Philanthropy Project Youth Board, consists of youth in service  will review each application, funding decisions will be made based on the following requirements.  Priority consideration will be given to programs or initiatives that:

  • Involve youth in the planning, preparation and completion of the proposed program or project

  • Builds youth character, abilities and skills (assets) involving children and youth.

  • Is available to all youth, especially those youth in need of support or may not participate in existing programs with identifiable barriers.

  • Builds healthy relationships between adults and youth.

Acceptable Use of Grant Funds:

  • New youth programs, projects or events that build leadership and character while showcasing service to others and highlighting qualities valued as important in communities.

  • Events or activities which build ongoing positive youth identity and values while providing constructive use of time for youth participants and beneficiaries.

  • We encourage requests which will build healthy relationships with youth.  The goal is to enhance roles youth play.  (Programs that will benefit only adults are not applicable for these grant funds.)
